Shuffle the cards and you can begin immediately: ready to play and to think.
The game is of average complexity and once the rules and the different cards have been understood, it can be played in around 1 hour (NB: the precision of the rules requires numerous circumlocutions which should not frighten you). Once spread out, the cards can take up a maximum surface area of approximately 120 x 60 cm.
It is based on a totally abstract ad hoc mechanism even if it is distantly inspired by commercial and military rivalries (family of “seas and continents” systems).
Its basic principle is that the same card takes on a different role depending on its position. This modularity leaves great latitude of choice.
It takes place in 2 distinct phases: 1 preparatory phase of construction of the playing area (but as strategic as the second), and a final phase, which makes the parts very different from each other.
