Description
This historical strategy game is a block-building game for 1 to 3 players.
It simulates the long settlement of the island of Great Britain over 2,500 years, culminating in the conquest by William the Conqueror. Solo games are fully regulated (unlike a game where you play alone simply because there are no other players).
1 metal box containing:
*68 white square PVC blocks with 2 cm edges (innovation: the blocks are printed, so no stickers need to be applied)
*A printed, foldable, wrinkle-resistant microfiber game mat measuring approximately 54 x 83 cm.
*4 dice in 3 colors (Note: due to a late change of supplier, this is the only game component not made in France, but in this case, in China)
*A rulebook in French
*A rulebook in English
Great Britain is populated by native inhabitants when the first alien colonizers arrive. The game begins by drawing the numbers of this native population, which will either be played or neutral. In the solo game, the human player opposes the neutral players, whose actions are governed by the rules. During a game, a player can, depending on the circumstances, merge their people with another regionally present people, or they can abandon their people, who join the neutral camp, and take on a new invading people. Dominating the largest part of the island is the goal. But this is a slow and long-term process.
There are no set scenarios per se: the game is designed so that you can start at any of the 22 chronological cartridges (equivalent to 20 scenarios, as starting after 1200 wouldn’t make much sense).
The random selection of native blocks at the beginning of each game is also fundamentally a source of diversity.
As a result of these two points, the variety of games, despite the fairly simple local rivalry mechanisms common in block-building games, is very rich. Replayability is therefore very high.
